Carson City, NV (March 26, 2026) – The Supreme Court of Nevada is alerting employees and members of the public to a fraudulent notice circulating online and through electronic communications that falsely claiming to be a “Final Court-Ordered Mandatory Collection Notice” issued by the State of Nevada.

This notice is not legitimate and has not been issued by any Nevada court or state agency.

The fraudulent document uses official-looking language, including references to the “Department of Safety & Homeland Security,” a court order, and severe legal consequences such as license suspension, financial penalties, and collections activity. It may also include a QR code or link labeled as a “secure portal” for payment. These elements are intended to create urgency and pressure recipients into taking immediate action.

This is a scam. Nevada courts do not issue legal notices in this manner, nor do they demand payment through QR codes or unsolicited electronic messages.

For members of the public who may receive this notice or something similar:

  • Do not scan QR codes or click on any links.
  • Do not provide personal or financial information.
  • Delete the message immediately.

Individuals are encouraged to report fraudulent messages and scams to the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
