The Commission on Judicial Selection may begin the search for a replacement of a justice or judge once the Governor notifies the Court Administrator of his or her acceptance of a resignation or retirement of a state judicial officer. On August 26, 2022, Justice Abbi Silver submitted her letter of retirement to Governor Sisolak. On the same day, the Governor notified the Court Administrator that he accepted Justice Silver's retirement.
