About the Administrative Office of the Courts
The AOC strives to be an influential and respected voice for the Nevada Judiciary. The AOC acts to support the Chief Justice in fulfilling his or her constitutional duty as administrative head of the Branch. The AOC provides several programs and services for both the appellate and trial courts, as well as, administrative, accounting, information technology, and human resources expertise. Position Description
The Administrative Office of the Courts is seeking up to 10 unpaid student interns/externs for our Carson City and Las Vegas offices each Fall, Spring, and Summer.
Interns take on professional responsibilities and gain hands-on experience.
Externs typically shadow a professional without completing job-related tasks.
Summer internships will run during the period of May – July, Fall externships will run August – November, and Spring externships will run February – April. Interns assist with substantive judicial matters under the direction of AOC supervisors and managers. Projects and tasks will be assigned by the AOC supervisor and manager. The assignments will be meaningful and give students a real opportunity to be exposed to current court practices and services. Interns may also have an opportunity to visit the courts across the state.
Special Requirements
- Only United States citizens or those legally authorized to work in the U.S. are eligible to apply
- A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected intern
- An internship/externship must not exceed 6 months from the date of graduation
