Justice Abbi Silver and Marshal Helen McClendon participated in Nevada Reading Week at various Las Vegas schools last week including Manuel Cortez Elementary School and Coral Academy. Justice Silver and Marshal McClendon read books to over 100 students and encouraged them to continue reading outside the classroom. Nevada Reading Week, is a statewide initiative for Nevada teachers and librarians to celebrate reading through shared thematic activities.
In addition, Justice Silver and Marshal McClendon spoke to students Desert Oasis High School during a Women in Leadership program put on by the school last week. They were able to discuss their journey with female students and empower them to pursue their dreams.
