Carson City – 10:30 a.m. – Panel B
Following a car accident, Seungju Lillian Han sued Manuela Garcia-Hernandez and Jose Ines Marrufo Sanchez for damages. The jury found the defendants liable, and Han was awarded damages, costs, and attorney fees. After trial, defendants moved for a new trial, arguing that the district court’s decisions to not disqualify Han’s counsel and to exclude evidence of Han’s past medical records, as well as conduct by Han’s counsel which allegedly inflamed the jury’s passion or prejudice, prejudiced their case. The district court denied appellants’ motion for a new trial and granted Han’s motion for attorney fees and costs. Appellants appeal the denial of the motion for a new trial and the order granting attorney fees and costs.
