This is an appeal from a district court judgment of conviction for felon in possession of a firearm. Appellant challenges the district court’s denial of a motion to suppress evidence obtained in a warrantless vehicle search (claimed to be an inventory search). Based on evidence of the officer’s pretextual motivation to search the vehicle for contraband and the officer’s failure to comply with inventory search protocols, appellant argues that the search was unreasonable under the Fourth Amendment.
