The Supreme Court of Nevada has been notified of a data security incident involving the C-Track case management system used by Nevada’s appellate courts.
The incident was not caused by the Nevada Appellate Courts’ networks, systems or data security practices. The Nevada Administrative Office of the Courts is working with the vendor to better understand the incident and determine what information, if any, may have been accessed.
Nevada’s appellate courts use C-Track to manage case information and records related to matters before the courts.
At this time, the Nevada Appellate Courts’ internal investigation has found no evidence that Nevada’s C-Track environment was accessed or compromised in connection with this incident.
The incident involved a separate vendor owned system containing select database backup files. The investigation remains ongoing.
No service disruptions have resulted from this incident. Users may continue using the case management system as usual.
At this time, the Court has no evidence that Nevada’s individual C-Track environment was accessed or in any way compromised, or that this incident has resulted in fraudulent activity involving Nevada court users. However, as always, individuals are encouraged to remain attentive to unusual or suspicious communications or activities.
