This comprehensive training session aims to equip rural judges with essential knowledge about the fentanyl crisis and addiction issues, enhancing their ability to respond effectively within their communities. The course will cover the scope of the fentanyl epidemic, its impact at various levels, and effective treatment options.

1. Explain and differentiate between effective and ineffective responses to the fentanyl crisis.

2.  Assess the four stages of treatment and how they can be applied to individuals struggling with fentanyl addiction.

3. Develop practical skills to apply this knowledge in court settings, enhancing judicial responses to fentanyl-related cases.

OLDER ADULTS ABUSE, NEGLECT, AND EXPLOITATION FOR LIMITED JURISDICTION JUDGES

During this training Judicial officers will gain an overview of the physical, emotional, and cognitive effects of aging, learn how to recognize abuse, neglect and exploitation in a variety of court settings, and learn how to craft court responses.

2. Identify signs of abuse, neglect, and exploitation in various court settings.

3. Determine skills to craft appropriate court responses to cases involving elderly individuals.
