MANAGING A JURY TRIAL IN THE LIMITED JURISDICTION COURT
(1.5 hour CJE/CLE)

In this entertaining session the presenter will engage you in the nuts-and-bolts of managing a Battery that Constitutes Domestic Violence Jury Trial, including proactive pre-trial suggestions to pass the paperwork burdens to counsel and respond to motions in limine and motions to change venue. You will also have the opportunity to engage in a symposium-style dialogue among other judges, along with suggestions on how to learn alongside more experienced judges in your own courtroom.

1. Apply the knowledge of the pre-trial processes for managing a Battery that Constitutes Domestic Violence Jury Trial, including key steps such as paperwork management and responding to motions.


2. Practice effective strategies for handling pre-trial paperwork and motions by participating in symposium-style dialogues and interactive exercises during the session.


3. Illustrate the benefits of learning alongside more experienced judges by discussing real-world examples and sharing insights during the symposium-style dialogue.

Compassion fatigue and self-care are important factors in our professional field for resiliency. We will explore strategies and resources to support the team for recognizing signs and symptoms, as well as opportunities for continued wellness.

1. Infer the signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue in professional settings.


2. Test strategies and resources aimed at fostering team resiliency and self-care.


3. Generate personalized wellness plans for mitigating compassion fatigue within professional teams.
