Speaker Biography The Honorable Jennifer Klapper
Tonopah Township Justice Court
Judge Jennifer Klapper began her career with Tonopah Justice Court in 1998 as a part-time clerk, advancing to court administrator prior to being elected to the bench. She has served as Justice of the Peace since 2013 and was appointed Juvenile Hearing Master by the 5th Judicial District Court in 2014.
Currently, Judge Klapper is a member of several professional organizations, including NJLJ, NJA. NCJFCJ and AJA. She serves on the AJA Board of Governors, the Education Committee and the Diversity Committee, while also serving as a Director for the NJLJ. In April she was invited by NCJFCJ to attend the 2023 Days on the Hill in Washington D.C. She met with members of congress to share the importance of well-trained judges and ways that Congress can help improve the lives of children in the juvenile justice system.
Judge Klapper grew up in Northern Nevada and graduated from Tonopah High School. She is married to her husband John, and they have four daughters. In her spare time she enjoys camping, fishing, and traveling.
