Speaker Biography The Honorable Ann Zimmerman

Judge Ann E. Zimmerman is in Department 8 of the Las Vegas Township Justice Court. She previously served from March 1997 through November 2000 as a Deputy Attorney General in the Nevada Office of the Attorney General. She was responsible for the prosecution of insurance fraud and theft-related crimes. From April 1994 to March 1997, Judge Zimmerman owned a private practice law firm practicing primarily in the area of criminal defense, family law, and personal injury. Judge Zimmerman graduated in 1989 with a Juris Doctor University of Missouri-Kansas City. In 1986 she received a Bachelor of Arts in  Political Science  from the University of Missouri - Columbia.

Judge Zimmerman practiced law with the Firm of Murdock & Palazzo from May 1993 through April 1994, primarily in the areas of criminal defense, family law, civil litigation and personal injury.  From July 1991 to May 1993, she worked in the Law Offices of Ian Christopherson practicing primarily in the areas of criminal defense, family law and civil litigation. From March 1990 through June 1991, Judge Zimmerman was an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney with the Office of the Jackson County Prosecutor in Kansas City, Missouri. She was responsible for prosecution of family support and paternity cases.

Judge Zimmerman is a member of the Nevada Bar Association, the Clark County Bar Association, the Nevada Judges Association, the  American Judges Association, and the National Association of Women Judges. Judge Zimmerman served as past Vice-Chair of the State Bar of Nevada Young Lawyers Section. She is Past President of the Nevada Judges of Limited Jurisdiction.
