Speaker Biography Supervisory Deputy US Marshal Seth Palmer
Mr. Seth Palmer is currently the Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal for the Judicial Security Unit (JSU) in the District of Nevada. The JSU is responsible for handling all security and protection of the judiciary including threats to all USMS protectees, active shooter active threat training, and Security briefs to the court family, Protective Security Details, Physical Securities of courthouses, and managing the Court Security Officer Program and contracts. Mr. Palmer has been with the USMS for almost 14 years, served in 3 districts (Idaho, Puerto Rico, and Nevada), and worked in almost all areas: court operations, asset & forfeiture, fugitives, sex offender, threat investigations, and of course judicial securities. Of those sections, he served as supervisor of court operations, warrants, and the JSU. Mr. Palmer has received many trainings and certificates from the USMS, including Firearms Instructor, Protective Services, Adjunct Instructor, Active Shooter Threat Instructor, Protective Investigations, Vulnerability Assessments, and Supervisory Leadership Development.
Prior to the United States Marshals Service, Mr. Palmer was a Border Patrol Agent with the U.S. Border Patrol, Department of Homeland Security for three years in the Arizona, Tucson sector, Naco station. He gained a lot of experience in drug and human smuggling, assisted the Intel Unit with his South American Spanish (Castilian Spanish), and was an Advisor for the U.S. Border Patrol Explorer Program. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a minor in Spanish.
