Speaker Biography Jason Woodbury

Carson City District Attorney's Office

Jason Woodbury was elected Carson City District Attorney in November, 2014. Prior to his election, Mr. Woodbury was a partner in the Carson City office of a statewide law firm where he worked for more than a decade. Before private practice, Mr. Woodbury served as a Deputy District Attorney in both the criminal and civil divisions of the Carson City District Attorney’s office under District Attorney Noel Waters. In 1998, he was hired by Judge Michael R. Griffin as a law clerk. A native Nevadan, Mr. Woodbury graduated first from the University of Nevada before completing law school at the University of Utah. Mr. Woodbury is a member of the Nevada District Attorney’s Association and also serves on the steering committee for Partnership Carson City. Twice a year, he instructs a course on “Constitutional Law” to incoming officers at the Nevada Police Academy. He was also a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Western Nevada affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
