Speaker Biography The Honorable Jerry Wiese

Chief Judge Jerry Wiese took the bench in January 2011 and has presided over numerous trials, both civil and criminal, and many settlement conferences. He served as a Court Appointed Arbitrator for many years and conducting more than 150 arbitration cases. He sat as a pro tem justice of the peace for several years in North Las Vegas, presiding over both civil and criminal cases. During his career as an attorney from 1994 through 2010, he handled cases in personal injury, medical malpractice, construction defect, workers compensation, contract litigation, collections, insurance defense, wrongful death, and insurance bad faith. He is licensed to practice law in both Nevada and Arizona. Judge Wiese attended law school at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and graduated with his J.D. in 1994. His undergraduate degree is from Brigham Young University and graduated in 1991 with a bachelor’s in political science. He grew up in Las Vegas and attended Rancho High School.
