Bill Teel
Bill Teel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a Master of Science degree in Leadership. With over 24 years of education, training, and experience, he has expertise in jail operations, academy instruction, emergency response tactics, inmate programs, discharge planning, reentry, and the operational oversight of medical and behavioral health services.
He retired as a Captain from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2022 after a 24-year career. His corrections background includes roles as an academy training officer, Use of Force Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Special Emergency Response Team Leader, Internal Affairs Detective, and legislative liaison. Teel attended the Clark County Management Academy, the National Jail Leadership Command Academy Class #14, and the Jail Executive Institute Class #1.
Teel has presented for the American Jail Association, the Jail Executive Institute, and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care. He currently consults in the jail industry and is collaborating with Nevada’s Department of Health and Human Services on developing a Jail Medication Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) / Community Continuation of Care Model for Nevada’s small and rural jails.
