Melissa Mangiaracina
Melissa Mangiaracina received her law degree from the University of Denver College of Law, where she graduated with honors in 2013. Melissa is licensed to practice law in Nevada (2005), California (2004) and Colorado (2003) and is formally trained in both mediation and arbitration.
As an attorney, Melissa represented seniors, children in foster care, victims of family violence, and low-income individuals throughout Northern Nevada. In addition to her legal practice, Melissa has also worked in several quasi-judicial roles, including as an Arbitrator, Administrative Hearing Officer, Mediator, Justice of the Peace Pro Tempore, and Settlement Judge for the Nevada Supreme Court.
Melissa has been sharing her love of the law by training legal professionals since 2013. She spent five years at the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, where she served as Adjunct Faculty for the University of Nevada, Reno, providing training and technical assistance to judges and other legal professionals across the country and in Canada. In 2022, Melissa co-founded the Mediator Training Center, where she provides basic and advanced mediator training through in-person and on-demand classes. Melissa has had the honor of serving as faculty for the American Bar Association, the Center for Court Innovation, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the Zero to Three Conference, the Nevada Supreme Court, and AOCs in Nevada, Arkansas, and Washington, among others.
In June 2024, Melissa was elected to serve as the next Justice of the Peace in her hometown of Incline Village, Nevada. She looks forward to starting this new role in January of 2025.
