Speaker Biography- Jessica Charak Lehrner
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department
Ms. Jessica Charak Lehrner is the DNA Technical Leader of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, where she has worked since 2014. Prior to her time in Nevada, Ms. Charak Lehrner spent 11 years in the Washington, DC area working as a forensic DNA analyst with both the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory (AFDIL) and the Prince George’s County Police Department. She attended Indiana University at Bloomington where she earned a BS in Biology, then completed her Master of Forensic Sciences at the George Washington University.
Ms. Charak Lehrner is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors, and is certified in Molecular Biology by the American Board of Criminalistics. She has also served as an Affiliate for the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Organization of Scientific Area Committee (OSAC) for Biology/DNA where she has helped to produce documents for the best practices associated with DNA mixture interpretation and reporting.
