Law Day Live provided students from across Nevada the opportunity to interact and share ideas about legal issues affecting them through online forums, panels, and a live webinar discussion. In addition, students were given the opportunity to make oral argument presentations to the Nevada Supreme Court. Students were required to research legal matters affecting privacy, civil rights, and the rule of law and then present their arguments to the justices of the court.
Recipient of the American Bar Association's (ABA) Outstanding Law Day Activity Award in 2011 and 2012, Law Day Live demonstrated how the judiciary can make the law come to life for students.
Educational materials, developed in conjunction with Nevada educators, brought issues to life and enabled teachers to meet curriculum requirements. The program engaged students and allowed them to discover how legal issues affect them in profound ways. Lesson plans are available under Educational Programming for use by teachers and students in developing Law Day activities.
