The Nevada Judiciary has released its 2020 Annual Report, marking the 21st annual report detailing comparative statistics for the Nevada Appellate Courts.

The annual report highlights the work of Nevada's courts, including technological achievements, court improvements, and judicial education. Summaries of judicial programs and commissions highlighting efforts to improve the efficiency and openness of the courts are also included.

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the Appellate Courts maintained a commitment to provide timely access to justice by remaining flexible and taking full advantage of newly available technology.  Specifically, the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals successfully continued to hold oral arguments utilizing a virtual hearing format and, using the same virtual platform, the Supreme Court was able to hold public hearings on its administrative docket.  This technology bridge allowed the courts to fulfill its obligation to resolve cases and administrative matters in a timely manner.

The annual report features statistics that the trial courts have provided since 1999, at the direction of the Supreme Court. The 40-page document can be downloaded at: https://nvcourts.gov/Supreme/Reports/Annual_Reports/2020_Annual_Report/
