Nevada Rental Foreclosure

If you are a renter who's dwelling unit is being foreclosed upon, the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada has a useful summary of Nevada law on rental foreclosures. The summary includes sample letters to new owners, step-by-step lists of what to do if you are served with a summons and complaint and information for Section 8 tenants.

The Clark County Civil Self-Help Center has a page on Eviction after Foreclosure:

The Nevada Dept. of Business & Industry also have a website with information for tenants of foreclosed properties:

If you do not want to negotiate with the lender directly, there is a list of local nonprofit housing counseling agencies you may contact:

Real ID Act in Nevada
The Real ID Act was passed by Congress in 2005

From the DMV:
This requirement goes into effect on January 1, 2010. However, your existing Nevada driver’s license or identification card will be valid for official federal purposes until December 1, 2014, for those who will be under 50 years of age on that date. Those who are 50 or older on December 1, 2014, will have until December 1, 2017 to comply.
